If you are in Dublin for a spring weekend, just go and do a combined visit to Glasnevin cemetery and the botanical gardens. Enjoy a carrot cake and a cup of tea afterwards. It is really nice there.

I recently left my facebook account on stand bye. Not because I don’t like social media, I certainly do.
It was more about that I did not find the content in my news feed which I wanted to read. Even when I
regularly cleared up my friends list, adjusted security or sharing options or blocked and unfollowed “friends”
I missed the content of my real friends.
I found this article which exactly describes the source of the problem. The status of friendships in reality
does not follow the algorithm of facebook. The intensity of social engagement changes over the years
of being connected. I am pretty sure that Mark Zuckerberg and his developers will find a solution for it
and will create a new code based an all the data they collected. But it will be tricky. During this time I am
prefering the intuitive usage of twitter and instagram (which is facebook too, I know – but it is beautiful simple)
and wait for improvement.
Here is the article.
Wow. When I left Germany I thought the quality of television there is really bad. Being now here in
Ireland I must say, it is at least as disgusting as in my home country. Having a subscription with upc
I can enjoy some 30 stations.
This evening e.g. I was browsing around and had the choice between “Nothing to declare, How I met
Your mother, Don’t tell the bride, Pregnant and dating, Amazing wedding cakes, Americas next top model or
Pawn Shoppers. That reminds on me that I have to pay my tv license for next 12 month. It will be a pleasure –
It is worth the money. Switching of now, getting me a book. Tomorrow I will watch a film – in cinema.
Third day of my business trip in Germany. My suitcase is still not there. Today I received a message from
Dublin airport (not from airfrance customer care), that my suitcase is now back in Dublin ready to
pick up. I will return tomorrow to Dublin anyway, so thanks for that.
Yesterday I had do to some shopping here in Potsdam because I had NOTHING with me, apart of the suit
I´ve worn from day one and my briefcase. Wait for my reclaim, Air France.
Overall I am strongly disappointed about the treatement as a customer and the information policy. Okay – lost
baggage is always stressful but at the end I am a relaxed down to earth person. What I do expect is
a constant information what is going on, pro-actively. Air France did not inform me with one single call
up to now (you have my mobile number guys). I was the one doing call and asking for status updates.
I learnt from colleagues that unfortunately a baggage loss is happening quite often with that airline.
So I am afraid for my flight back. I learnt my lesson.
If I stay healthy enough and #apple is keeping its re-inventing speed for its #iphone I am expecting to die with iphone 50.
Well, quite nice re-built boarding area at Paris CDG. Handsome security agents and fast processes. Improvement of bad quality from the past, indeed.
But, thank you @airfrance, I am the second day in Germany now for business trips to Munich and Potsdam being without my suitcase. It is still in Dublin, Paris or elsewhere due to your call center. I can’t help it. Let’s make the best out of it. The sun is shining this Tuesday morning in Munich and forecast is saying as well in Potsdam.

Haven’t I met this guy yesterday in Grafton Street? Is the plum cake still as good as in the 1920ies at Brown Thomas? Do the kids play still the same games at Grand Canal? James Joyce is painting an amazing picture of Dublin in the early 20th century. Dark streets, rough men but as well passionable lovers. This is mandatory for lovers of Dublin and Irish culture. Rest assured, this spirit is still here.
Interesting thoughts about #socialmedia and #ep2014
With three months still to go, people are already talking about the European elections on social media. But will social media actually make a difference? And, perhaps more importantly, can we get beyond speculation and measure the impact of social media on the 2014 European elections?
In this post, I’m going to take a brief look at three areas where I think social media could potentially have a quantifiable impact.
During the 2010 US congressional elections, a research team led by the University of California in San Diego studied the voting behaviour of 61 million Facebook users. The researchers looked at the impact of a “get out the vote” message delivered to voters via Facebook, as well as an “I voted” button that allowed people to inform their Facebook friends that they had cast their vote. The study concluded that the Facebook campaign generated 340,000…
