Heard many good reviews about this book. Kind of a bible for sales which maybe was in early years. Now for me it is not up to date anymore and I find all examples given (and too often repeated) fairly not out of this century. I did not enjoy reading it and I felt a little brainwashed.
Browsing my social networks and feeds in a daily manner, I get more and more annoyed and bored about all these Business Insider, Forbes and Tech Crunch lists, which appear in my timeline. Who on earth believes it is innovative or related to a slight kind of entrepreneurship to follow up on 10 things to read, 10 things to do, 10 things not to do lists? Do you really believe it is cool to share or to re-tweet things which show that you do not have any clue about and others made up their minds for you? It is not. Therefore you urgently need this list to help you out.
1. 10 reasons lists do not help anybody but at the end they prove that you at least know the numbers from 1 to 10 which is good
2. 10 reasons list show, that you are interested in content – but you don´t care about reading it, apart from reading 10 reasons lists
3. Editors of 10 reasons lists do not know anything about reality, because the fundament of their researches are 10 reasons lists
4. How many of the biblical 10 commandments did the society has failed to follow up? Why on earth do you believe this works for business?
5. Still reading this stuff? – This is disgraceful. Do you´ve got nothing else to do? E.g. making some business.
6. Can you name the last 10 things which your spouse has told you after coming home from work? You can´t. Same for the last ten 10 reasons lists I guess.
7. At this point I do not have any clue what kind of advise I can give you additionally, but still I have 3 reasons left. So I go on.
8. No 10 reasons lists reader can be 10 times more productive in not adapting any of those stupid lists
9. Why on earth must this always be 10 tips?
10. If you are at this point, you can now open a window and through ten 10 dollars notes into the street. This is exactly the amount you wasted by reading this.

The device overload at home is moving forward and forward. The central access point is the router which is connected to tv, stereo, smartphones, tablets even radios in the kitchen – and my apple tv box. Not really new. Got it now for nearly 2 years and I frequently use it. For me living in other countries it is an excellent opportunity to watch German news magazines or reports (delayed) or videos on the tv screen – not on my laptop.
I am not an apple evangelist – but at this time I am really happy about the itunes festival which I became aware of some weeks ago. (actually it is not new as well- but with the information overload of today it takes some time to get aware of it)
I love watching live concerts and the itunes festival is a perfect possibility to watch various artists all performing in UK´s Roundhouse at Camden. Well known acts as well as (for me) totally unknown. Love it. Perfect sound quality and a great club atmosphere because of a not too large location.
And surprise, suprise. It is totally for free. Watch it until the end of October. Recently listend to Agnes Obel and Bahamas.
Great artists which I added to my spotify or deezer playlists. Crazy online world.

Was passiert in der Zwischenzeit? Geht Ihr nie in die Sauna oder habt das verdammte Bedürfnis LED gegen Sonnenlicht einzutauschen?
Jedes mal wenn ich auch nur eine halbe Stunde offline bin programmiert einer von Euch Schaltkreis Fuzzies ein update irgendeiner app nur zum Selbstzweck. Was soll das?
Und vor allem – was ist bitteschön anders nach dem update Nummer 135 und der Version 5.77.75959.12?
Bug Fix? Hört doch auf. Wenn Ihr vielleicht zwischendurch den Chat oder den Teamspeak ausschalten würdet, dann müssten wir hier nicht über stündliche Bug fixes reden. Es nervt. Insgeheim sehe ich euch nasebohrend sitzen und schon wieder über ein update vom update nachdenken – irgendetwas muss man ja
zu tun haben.
Ich hab Euch durchschaut. Ihr seid Verbündete der Mobilfunkanbieter und ihren limitierten Download Verträgen. 10 Euro monatlich und 500 MB Download Volumen. Super denkt man sich, doch leider gehen davon schon mal 400 MB für Eure beknackten updates drauf. Den Rest regelt dann die Firmware.
Tut mir einen Gefallen. Nutzt das schöne Wetter aus und geht Grillen.

Ich glaube beim letzten Asse Besuch hat unser Umweltminister ein wenig zu tief ins Fass geschaut. Vielleicht ist aber auch sein C-Netz Handy im Eimer oder sein BTX Anschluss kommt mit dem 14/4-er Modem nicht klar. Twitter ist national – quasi in Deutschland erfunden – oder in der Schweiz? Könnte sich bitte jemand erbarmen und Peter Altmaier mal das mit den followern erklären?

Finally the process is coming to its end. A house has been found in Dublin area. More specific in Dublin 13. Which is close to Malahide, Donobate and the beach – but as well within 20 min distance by bus to city centre or work. I would not describe the living area with semi-detached houses as picturesque. It appears as a kind of heritage of building boom in the mid-ninties and afterwards forgotten. Anyway – the quality and standard is sufficient and quite okay.
Garbage bins have been ordered and my upc 50 MB cable connection is working to my fully satisfaction.
Next week the furniture will arrive from Spain. And then the transfer has been completed.
Summarizing all issues – I am getting more and more comfortable with relocating and after approx. 3 weeks I am now an Irish resident with all necessary documents. Not so bad.
Now its the time to benefit from the situation, to work and live here – so as an open minded person – I want to get a deeper knowledge of Irelands history, culture and landscape. Up to know – I met really open and friendly people. I am curious for more.
Dublin is a living city with so many professionals from the most important IT companies worldwide with their EMEA headquarter here in Ireland. None of the important names are missing. I saw this bicycle in front of our building.

Ich hatte am Anfang Schwierigkeiten reinzukommen. Und dann, bin ich wirklich homophob oder einfach nur so gesellschaftlich domestiziert, dass es mich Anfangs irritierte, dass sämtliche, handelnden Hauptpersonen lesbische Paare waren? Ich glaube ich ich hatte einfach dieses typische, kleinkarierte Tatort denken. Doch später kam ich mehr und mehr in die Geschichte herein. Verschiedene Stilmittel, verschiedene Perspektiven wie z.B. der Roman im Roman der Hauptverdächtigen Jay. Ortswechsel, Zeitsprünge und ein hoher Spannungsgehalt ohne Blutrünstigkeit, wie man sie aus skandinavischen Romanen kennt. Ein durch und durch intelligenter Krimi, bei dem man wirklich erst ziemlich spät zu ahnen beginnt, wer die Bösewichtin (um in der weiblichen Analogie zu bleiben) ist. Und so soll es ja auch sein. Stilmittel wie iphone oder soziale Netzwerke geben dem Roman eine zusätzliche Aktualität, die aber gar nicht sein müsste. Mein erster lesbischer Kriminalroman. Er hat mich begeistert. Vier Sterne von mir, weil ich denke, es geht immer noch besser – doch bei diesem Roman wären fünf auch verdient.
KC peaches Dublin – yummy food, good location
Great Location for having a nice breakfast, lunch, tea time or dinner. Fairtrade products, reasonable prices, yummy food and located at Trinity College and Grafton Street.
Today being out the whole day for house viewings, provided as a service by my employer. Had organized before on my own on daft.ie which
is the main webpage for finding lettings. They all have been disgusting. This day was quite better and the properties have been mostly lovely. For having the possibility to be on the one hand close to beaches, bull island, green and nature because of the dogs, I decided to concentrate on the North Regions. But as I have to work in the Eastpoint Business Park which is in Dublin 3 I definitely needed a good connection to public transport (DART, LUAS, Dublin Bus).
However, as a dog owner you not easily find offers for lettings were pets are allowed.
Altogether I saw today 8 houses located in Clontarf, Malahide, Donabate and Belgriffin. At the end, Belgriffin was the favorite one and I now have to go into negotiations.
As a pre-requisite for renting a house you need a PPS-number which you get at PPS office in the centre near O´Connel Street. Surely you need a bank account and sometimes a letter of prove from your employer.
Additional to the cost of the rental you should keep in mind the following extra costs.
– garbage bin – 160 Euro per year only for the bin. 8,50 Euro for each collecting. You have to buy stickers in a local store an put it on a bin – if not, it won´t be emptied.
– communication fee or TV-License – as well 160 Euro per year, collected and paid by post office or via Internet. Even if you don´t have a TV.
– Electricity and gas – depends on your consumption, but approx. 120 Euro per month
– Water – can´t believe is free, but government is planning to charge it in 2014
– Internet – between 30-50 Euro per month. Depends if you buy sky tv channels as well
So – let´s see how negotiation are going. By the way. Mostly the prices announced by agents are
not fixed and there is some room for bargaining. Maybe the next posting will be from the new home. Hopefully.
