I really enjoyed reading this book. Having moved to Ireland I wanted to get some background knowledge about the history, landscape and people. This book takes you on a journey along the Shannon from the Cuilagh mountains down to Limerick telling you interesting storys about Brian Boru or a lady named Grace O´Malley being a pirate and leader of 20 ships and 6000 men against the Normans. It is not a boring travel guide – it is book with lovely anecdotes.
